So I have a new book coming out soon (a proper 150,000-word novel this time! Not just a 25,000-word novella or a dinky little short story) and I thought it only fitting that I should update the ol’ weblog.
The last theme was looking a little bit old hat, in my opinion. So I went looking through the currently available themes, and it turns out that the old black-and-orange theme I’d been using had been discontinued by WordPress years ago! I had no idea.
But I’m quite pleased with this new one. I think it looks quite a lot better than the previous one. And I made sure to include some banner images that evoke fantasy settings. Be sure to tell me what you think.
And of course, watch this space for news about the upcoming novel. I’m aiming for an ebook release this December (but before Christmas).
I got your book Emerald sons to read and review from Booksprout but it was never published! What happened? I might try one of your others. I like old historical fiction with some romance if possible. Romans, Vikings, Britain, Arabs, Egyptian, etc
Hi there, Space Cowgirl!
Thanks very much for reaching out, and thanks for showing interest in my books. Unfortunately that ARC copy was only downloaded by two people – yourself and one other Booksprout user. But I was hoping for at least 10-20 readers, and a similar number of reviews. I know that my book will unfortunately never be able to gain traction on Amazon without several early reviews there to encourage people to take a chance and buy it. So when it became clear that I wasn’t going to get more than two ARC readers, I got cold feet and withdrew. 😦 Sorry about that.
I think what I need to do is cultivate an actual fanbase *before* publishing a novel, so that’s what I’ll be working on this year. Probably by uploading art, maps, etc. And I’ll probably do it with a different (shorter) novel, and put Emerald Sons onto the backburner.
